Hello All,

A weird issue I've come across this morning. Of course the person who set up our system is out of the office for 3 months, so I have to try and fix this.

The receptionist at our switchboard shows a busy light on a particular extension even when the phone is not being used. I've restarted the switchboard, unplugged the user's phone, and I still have the issue. Any clues?

Thanks in advance

Assuming this is a button module then the most obvious thing is that button is not actually assigned to that user, but something else. You would need to check the programming.

Thanks for the response Pepp77. Yes, this is a button module. When you press the button, it attempts to call the user, but does nothing. It turns green for a second or two. Then goes back to red as if the user is not the phone.

Still need to check the actual programming.

Probably was a button for a user that no longer exists or is a button for a user that has no phone. As Pepp77 already stated you need to check the programming of that button.

The truth is just an excuse for lack of imagination.

Just checked out the button programming. This was definitely someone who is no longer here. I can see that the old employee's name is still listed in the button, but I can't changed it. It has a lock next to it? When I change it to the current employee and save it, then merge the changes, it just reverts back to the old employee name.

I'm logged onto the Avaya IP Office Manager software as an admin.

Yep and I have given you a clue to fix it :)

The lock means it's been assigned via user rights. Towards the bottom of the tree on the left. You'll need to remove/change it from there.

not arrogant, just succinct.
