I managed to get my hands on a second hand IPO 5 system for our church. I've got some experience with programming the system, but I don't know it intimately but I still managed to get it working correctly on POTS lines. About a year ago, I convinced the church to go to a SIP trunk to save about $600/mo on their current phone bill and without too much trouble, I was able to make the switch. The problem I am having now is back when it was on POTS, I had a few lines setup as DID's. Now, those DID's are working but the problem is they're only working inbound, not outbound. I need to have these couple of phones be able to dial out on their specific line and their specific line only. I thought I could achieve this by setting up a separate ARS route and using a short code to access particular outgoing line only, but it doesn't seem to be working - it always defaults to the first available outbound line/channel. I've racked my brain on this over and over to no avail...help!

Put each line on there own icr route.
Eg: incoming 1, outgoing 1 for line 1
Incoming 2, outgoing 2 for line 2

The assign a short code For each line
Eg: 81 ,n,1 for line 1
82 ,n,2 for line 2

is your URI set to auto or * depending on release? If it is then put the DID number in the users SIP tab.

Here's the current URI config:

Simplify the SIP URI's

Make TWO

Channel 1: Local URI / Contact / Display Name are all *
Incoming Group 10, Outgoing Group 17

Channel 2: Local URI / Contact / Display Name are all Use Internal Data
Incoming Group 10, Outgoing Group 18

Your Incoming Call Route will use Group 10, set your DID's to ring at the correct extension

ARS
- Use NS1112223333 and Line Group 17 to send the number you have specified after the S
- Use N without the S111222333 part and Line Group 17 to send the User's DID (as determined by the Incoming Call Route)
- Use N without the S1112223333 part and Line Group 18 to send the User's number from their SIP tab

Ignore my reply

I thought you still had the pots lines as well as the sip lines.

Thanks all - unfortunately the rectory is only open 1 day a week so I have to wait until next week to try this...I'll let you know how it goes!

No joy in play land...incoming still working ok, outgoing for the DIDs is not. Here's what I have configured:

User SIP tab (note I also tried the defaults first which user and extension number):
5-6-2020_10-36-10_AM_zmzmu2.png

URI:
5-6-2020_10-34-27_AM_sajvpy.png

ARS:
5-6-2020_10-36-30_AM_gdpdvi.png

I'm using a 7 prefix as a shortcode to dial using the ARS

It looks like you are sending a different DID out then you were using earlier 815722 now 815726 then? The provider will likely block any calls not coming from the numbers associated with the trunk so make sure the numbers (DIDS) are correct in the user tabes.
Mike

Correct - one of the 7 phone numbers on that SIP trunk is the 815722 number I have listed on the user's SIP tab. What's the issue?

run monitor with the SIP options default and show it here on a failed call.
