Hi guys,

I am installing an Avaya IP Office 500V2 on 8.0(42).

I am uninstalling an LG IPLDK20 system at a customers site and they have a powered bell installed on site. This is currently connected to the relay port using a Power Adaptor on the LG system and in programming the relay is set to act as a Loud Bell Control and is set to ring when the warehouse extension rings.
Now i know how to set these up on LG and Samsung, but have never had to install one on an IP Office. Setting up an Analogue bell would be easy, but unfortunately that's not what they have.

Is it possible to setup a Powered bell on Avaya?
If so, would I use the relay port on the back?

I was thinking if i could use the relay port, would I be able to create a dummy user and have a permanent forward on this user to they relay shortcode. Then put the warehouse user and my dummy user into a hunt group, so when the group is rung, the bell rings. Not sure if that would work, any thoughts??

Cheers in advance for any responses

The relay can't be used like that, its an analogue bell twinned or one of those ring sensing bells that sticks to a handset speaker, those are pretty much your options :)

Cheers amriddle.

I did think that was going to be the answer after i googled all last night and went through the IP Office manuals and couldn't find a thing.

Back to the salesman we go then, he didn't put it on the Tech Approval
