Avaya IP Office 500v2 - 9508 phones say "Please Wait"

I just did an install on an IPO 500v2 and there are two sets that are not coming up. They don't try to download the firmware no matter what port I plug them into. If I plug a 'working' set into that same port, they also just say "Please wait". Has anyone had this problem? I have tried to force download the firmware, and our tech support desk is unable to help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You can only upgrade one phone per port without a reboot.
Are those two phones the only 9508's?
What software version is your IPO on?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

Try a reboot of the IPO and see what happens.

tipeter. I've dont all the basic and intermediate things to resolve this. Nothing works. I've tried forcign the upload of the bin files, rebooted, even reupgraded and rebooted.. no dice..

Open monitor and go to filters -> services and enable tftp in it.
plug in a phone and make a trace.
When you have done that post it here

Try to put all settings in fixed, so ip addr/file srvr/call srvr.

If I plug a 'working' set into that same port, they also just say "Please wait". Sounds to me you are plugging the phones to analogue ports, if you move the move to a working digital port, what happens? I might be wrong or i got you all wrong.

what hardware or configurations you have?

Open manager and leave running in background.

"Never fear billing a client for services rendered, or they will think your time is worthless"

Sure sounds like a combi card and you are attempting to connect 8 digital sets in, rather than 6 Dig and 2 analogue :)

OK, a colleague had this issue.
Upload the bin file again to the SD card and plug the phone in a different port.
This solved it for us.

I hope this thread isn't too old to add to. I'm having this issue as well, with 4 or 5 new 9508 sets. They upgrade and begin to work, which requires about 10 minutes, but the upgrade is not retained after a system reboot. Often, they will not upgrade at all, just hang in the process. Is the bin file mentioned a patch of some kind? Does TiPeter mean that if I jacked a second set with old firmware into a port that had just upgraded a set, it would not upgrade w/o a reboot? It's an IP500V2 2011 q4 release. Thanks for your help. The best Avaya forum anywhere.

Set the TFTP address to the LAN1 address of the IPO, then the phones will load the files directly from the SD card.
