I have 3 sites that have avaya ip office 500 v2 that are still on R6. I had to buy a new combo card for one of them and I couldn't get it to work. The PCS on my control unit is PCS-03 and the PCS on the combo card is PCS-10. The control unit doesn't recognize the combo card or the ATM4 card on it.
Now I'm affraid that any new equipment I buy for these PBX's won't work cause they are newer than the control units I currently have. Will upgrading to R7 or R8 fix this problem? If it does will I have install the R7 upgrade first then install the R8 upgrade or can I just go ahead and go straight to R8?

You need to upgrade to 6.1.22 and then it will work.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The new PCS07 IP500 ATM4 Combo card and PCS10 ATM4U Daughter card require a
minimum software level for the card to be recognized in an IP500 system. The IP Office
must be running a minimum software level of 6.1(20) or 7.0(12). The Combo card and
ATM4U Daughter card will not function with earlier releases of IP Office software.
