Me, I have to upgrade a system with over 1500 users, 15 sites primary and secondary select edition.

Most of the JIRA is because of me!

I'm a small fish but I've upgraded. Essential edition with SIP Trunks, IP Phones J179/J169/9608G/9611G. So far so good - no issues.

Thanks, Tim

Well, something minor - sysmon thinks no essential edition license is installed, but it is and the system is functioning fine with no alarms. Rebooted a couple of times but the message remains in sysmon (see below).

Manager shows all of the licenses installed.

Doesn't impact the system at all.

I just upgraded our system and after it rebooted it was a completely blank config. Licenses were still there, but it was a blank slate, no name, nothing. I've gone back to my snapshot, it may work if you re-upload it's config but I couldn't be arsed dealing with it right now. No fancy new features anyway.

It's truly incredible how they manage to botch something new with every single release.

Hi,

I just upgraded my lab Server Edition from R11.1 FP2 SP2 to FP2 SP3.

No problems during upgrade, system did a reboot and all looks well.

No tests yet, that will be for next week.
Keep you posted.

Still loads of reported bugs missing in this, that we are now going to have to wait another 5 months for, as the next R11.1.2 release is not until 2023!!!

You have to call support and get a private built which they then send you 2 weeks prior to the release of the new version, LOL

The J100 series firmware included in the Manager is the 4.0.10.3, why not to use the 4.0.13 released in July 2022? It seems they built the Admin atleast 6 months ago and never check it !

Private builtd? Thats a laugh!!

They have out right refused to provide any private build for our issues. Told us that we will have to put up with the issues until thye get around to fixing them.

They even tried to close my case saying I'll get a fix in November with SP4 so there is nothign more they can do. Which according to the TB for SP£ is actaulyl next year.

Could you share what issue you have that Avaya won't fix until SP4?

Thanks

Just noticed a new issue installing the release on a new system: all the existing J100 start updating to 4.0.10.3.2 (native build for SP3) excepted the J139 model which starts and logs in correctly but does not upgrade at all, neither by entring the admin menu and forcing the firmware update.
It occours if the phone has not logged in before as a user.
To force the J139 update you have to log in the device THEN phisically unplug the phone: at restart the device will update itself then log in automatically with the new firware.
For what I have seen just the J139 series is affected, not depending from the firmware version already present in the device.

Anyone else been brave enough to try this release? I tried again to upgrade our system and it blanked it again.

Apparently 11.2 is due in November should be good

will this be the same shitshow as the last releases of the last 2 years? I can't keep up because something else isn't always working...

In the last release I had huge problems with a Server Edition mounting hard drives :(

Testing on business partners and customers is really an bad image for avaya.

Found another problem while upgrading my lab system: on Manager tried recreating the SD card (after formatting as a A-Law) the process is interrupded because file "neo.min.css" has not been found in the folder (see image)
Cheched out the R11.1 FP2 Manager and that file wasn't present neither...

@IamaSherpa that's really interesting. I also had to rebuild my A-LAW SD Card with this release of IPO and had no problems at all...

Thanks, Tim

IamaSherpa, I had the same issue recently with the last build. Did not try with the new release yet. I had opened a ticket with Avaya but got the run around and told it was a billable issue since it was a new install :( I was able to recreate the card with an older release to get around the issue. I had tried coping the file from an older install of Manager and then there was another file missing and then another and finally gave up.

Attempted upgrade our lab Server Ed 11.1.2.0.0 b239 to 11.1.2.3.0 b47. on a VMWare ESXi 6.7.0 where I have uppgraded from 11.1.1 without problems before.
I get Upgrade failed.: Failing at task 'Pull upgrade', step 'Pulling inventory'
after being stuck at 3% upgrade for a minute or two.
