I found documentation on connecting a system printer to different types of gateways, but not the G450. Does anyone know if I can connect a system printer via TCP/IP to an Avaya G450 S8300D system? I was told no by the vendor, but that doesn't sound right.

They are not feeding you bad info , what do you want to print ??? as all cdr(call data) data comes from CM

Well, actually, I went through the settings and there is a spot for a sys_prnt on page 5 of the disp feat. IP services needs to be enabled. I need to print bcms reports. I can give the user access to print their own, but I would prefer the PBX do it automatically, keeps the question/answer period to a minimum if I do the printing from the report scheduler vs the user typing in commands. The vendor said something about BCMR, but I have never heard of this. I will google that.

Why send this to an actual printer? The end user would likely just scan the printout. Why not schedule ASA to REPORT to a file on a shared drive and not involve killing trees? You just need ASA running on a PC or VM somewhere.

i was asssuming you where thinking you could hook a printer directly to the g450 and get data that only pertains to that unit , bcms can indeed be sent to a printer , i guess your vendor is trying to guide you away from something that is pretty old hat where more recent technology is available.

I certainly could send to a file on a drive. As far as BCMR, CDW offers it for $16K, not sure the company would care for that expense if we can just hook up a printer. I'll kill trees if it means getting the job done.
