Avaya G3 SI unresponsive after power cycle 2

Building power had to be cut and now PBX will turn on but just a white cursor on screen and nothing going on- any advice?
It was gracefully shut down.

Haven't seen one of these in a long time.. is there some sort of power switch on the carriers?

I will ask. The bad part is I am remote and have never seen the system in person.
I have actually not "seen" a real Avaya in 10 years.

Try breaker reset on the back of single carrier cabinets.

SCC cabinets in that release came with a 1217A power supply. These units have a
design flaw. They require that the breaker be reset to restore power if there is
any power fluctuation at all. Check your carrier power, if 1217A change them
out. Go to a 1217B or the older WP91153 L3.
If external power is DC Carrier Port Power Units must be 676B power units.

Turn the breaker off
Turn the breaker on

ok our guy was calling that the "switch." Thanks for your help. I am thinking the power supply is toast.

If you have multiple SCC cabinets, you can swap the power from one cabinet to the other.
ie. Control cabinet power swapped with Port cabinet power, to get the system to boot.

thank you, we did swap so we at least had the main controls
up and it definitely seems to be the power supply.

You really need to upgrade and get rid of the legacy cabinets. You can still find parts but there's just no support. Migration to G650 or preferably G450 gateways.

These are rock solid and will be around for a long time. Parts are readily available from many resources.

We were able to get a replacement and it was plug and chug - we are back up.
It would of course be prudent to have a spare but in theory the equipment is on the list to be phased out/integrated with corporate Cisco VOIP, so meanwhile we slog along and put out any fires.
