Avaya Equinox: Where is it supposed to Work?

Hi all,

I am searching for a thread that would explain the basics of Avaya Equinox.

Basically, answering the questions:

If it works 'On-net'/inside the company network, is it 'supposed' to work 'Off-net' as well?
Can I take it outdoors with my cell phone and have it work seamlessly?

If so, then can anyone provide insight on what I can look for with this error?

Inside the building, on the network, this app works perfectly. Cell phone, Desktop app, Inbound/Outbound. No issue.
I leave the building, and no wifi, then I can't connect. I tested it in-house by disabling the cell phone wifi, and same issue.

I try to connect while on a VPN Connection with my laptop off-site, and the same thing from both Cell and laptop.

Very new to Equinox. Any info that would help point me in the direction of where to look would be appreciated.

It should work everywhere assuming you have a NAT traversal appliance on the edge of your network.. SBC. There's obviously way more to getting it working, but sounds like you have what's necessary internally and are missing the edge component.

It's a SIP client, so it needs the same stuff as hard SIP Avaya phones - System and Session Manager and CM.

Otherwise, it can use every other UC component of the Avaya portfolio that can be in addition to the minimum of SM/SMGR/CM.

Turns out that there was an incorrect parameter in the SBC Configuration. This was corrected and all's well now.
