Hi All,

I have an IPO v500 ver 9.0.4. Using embedded VM - Tried both modes
there are 1608 , 9608 and e129.

When there are voice messages left only the 1608 and 9608 light up.
The E129 does not light up but when listening to the messages it is there.

Tried both

Any idea what I can change to fix it.

Regards

The answer unfortunately might be to get go to 9.1. That is the release in which they added MWI options for non-Avaya SIP phones (there is no single standard for it in SIP). Might be when then also pre-coded the options for supported Avaya SIP phones. Need to find someone using E129 on 9.1 to confirm if it works there.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

Hi Sizbut

Have you also experienced the issue with E129's.

Also is the E129 regarded as a Non-Avaya Sip Phone?

I am getting an engineer in our lab to test it on another 9.0 and 9.1.

I will let you know the outcome.

The E129 is an AVAYA SIP phone "wink""wink" relabled. No 3rd party lic required.
What about upgrading the firmware on the E129 ?

It's only dialtone!!!

I'll do a install tomorrow on 9.1 and if I have time left i'll check the MWI on the e129 ( it will be my first e129 install so I am curious ).

I have them working on 9.1 SE .

It's only dialtone!!!

Didn't even had the time to open the box... next week maybe

Hi VZtech,

Just want to confirm... Does message waiting indicator activate when a message is delivered.

Hi guys,

Just tested the 1120 and another 3rd party sip device on rls 9.1.3 SE select and does not light up. only the h323 Avaya phones.

Did anyone else maybe get this working

I have a 9.0.5 with voicemail pro with e-129 phones and the message waiting does work

Hi Guys...

I tried using the following shortcode to activate the MWI
N";MWL Msgs=1 OLD=0 Sav=0"

code = *70*ext*
Feature = Display MSG
telephone nr N";MWL Msgs=1 OLD=0 Sav=0"

This works only with Avaya h323 phones

Should I log the call with Avaya

I think you should log a call through IPOSS & request a V9.1 upgrade licence, then upgrade as other comments here indicate it works with V9.1

In the process of getting the IPOSS registered.

If possible can someone test the Short Code above and confirm that it works on both H323 and SIP phones (1120e or E129)

I don't think that shortcode is supposed to work with SIP phones.

But before you register a case with Avaya you should at least try and upgrade to latest 9.0 release since they will tell you to do so anyway.

Hi Janni78,

Ive done the test on 9.0.7 , 9.1.3 and the latest 8.1. Same result.

Why would it not work on SIP phones?

is it not the system sending a message to the SIP phone in the same way a normal message would activate the MWI.

What your doing with the shortcode is sending a message to the phone that there is a message even though there isn't, not sure that's supported on SIP devices.

What you need to do is to leave an actual message so VM sends the MWI.

Silly Question Takst3r

But if you web browse to the SIP phone IP. Have you checked that Message wait is set to "on"?
