Avaya DS1FD Issue Using Lucent SLC-5 Channel Bank

Has anyone successfully interfaced an Avaya DS1 (either via G650 or G450) to a SLC-5 to provide DS1FD stations? I know about the lack of caller ID issue due to the robbed-bit signaling limitations, I'm just trying to get the basic functionality to work. If we interface these DS1s to an Adtran channel bank, no issues - aside from the lack of caller ID. But with the SLC-5 we can't get the channels to work at all. Testing the DS1 board while interfaced to the SLC-5 yields random test parameter failures. I was wondering if anyone else had seen these issues and were able to overcome them.

I tried the same setup with a slc 2000 remote terminal and couldn't get it to work.

ds1fd, vrufd are for ivr / vru type equipment with station integration over t1.
