Hello everyone,

I have some questions regarding dongle licenses

First, is it possible to transfer licenses from a serial dongle to an parallel one as my IP406 does not have a serial port but only a parallel? Or shall I move all of them on a USB dongle and use Feature Server for it ?
If yes, how ?
How can I check what licenses are one a dongle ?

I hope I didn't sound very stupid :) Thanks in advance for your time

All those dongles are end of sale for a long time already.
But in theory yes you can transfer them.
You have a IP406v1 so your only option is the usb.

I would think of investing in a new IP500v2 and transfer the license to the SD card (dongle)
But that requires some more action because of a lot of changes.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

IP406 V2 sorry forgot to mention.
So the best option is not the parallel but on the USB.
How can I do that ? And how can I check the licenses that the dongles have it ?

Thank you

You can't do that yourself.
You do need an Avaya business partner for that.

Is it any way to to check the licenses that are on the dongle ?

Thank you

Sure, post the serial.
Some of us can check.

Check with your distributor for a serial dongle. Even though they are not listed in any Matrix and are end of life, they are still available. I just switched a customer from a USB to serial on a VM server replacement to a virtual machine and was able to order a serial dongle and do the license transfer.

I'm also ShoreTel certified :(

Can someone check SD card 1306839268
Im not what licenses are on this card, could be nothing as they have pots lines, and less than a dozen phones. It's a new Customer, emergency call. I just swapped out a dead 500v2, cannot read this SD card on the new IPO, nor My laptop. Grrrrrr

That's how most hijackers get to that situation.

IP Office never had a parallel interface it is either a 9 pin or 24 pin serial port.
You can attach a serial dongle to a 24 pin serial device with a adaptor, no need to change dongles.
serial-port-convertor-9-to-25-pin-adapter-f-m-354-p.jpg

I thought that the serial port dongle could only attach direct to certain models:

IP Office Small Office Edition, IP406 V2, and IP412 control units

So not the IP403 etc...

I bought an adapter from 25 to 9pins.
It doesn't work ..... try it both dongles.

In a meanwhile i bought a 9pin key witch actually is recognized buy the unit but i dont have a business partner.
Is it anyone here that can help me transfer the license on this new key ? I am in UK.

Thank you,
