I have a avaya Definity G3- version V6 and have verified that the ISDN-BRI Trunks is set for y and the ISDN-PRI is also y the only one that is no is ISDN-PRI over Pra con is n. They currently have a T-1 with a CSU on the back of the cabinet.
Question?
Would like to verify that this means it can have a PRI added? Also is there any thing else that needs to be checked the reason is that Cox is the current T-1 vendor and it is on their bill that it is a PRI but found out Cox could not get the PRI to work and that is why they have the T-1.

and what type of cabinet/processor?

Prologix/csi - you're good to go using a tn767 or tn464
G3R - you're good to go but must use a tn464
G3i/si - you'll need an available port on a packet interface board to assign each D Channel to. after that a tn767 or tn464 will support the B channels

-CL

correction on the last item... processor intf - not packet intf

-CL

It has the following cards
tn790 processor vintage 14 Q3.2.239.3 def R6
tn765 processor Intfc v22
tn777b network control v21
tn778 packet control v8
tn2182B tone clock v1
tn2464 DS1 Intfc
however when I tried to use show could not get to that command. have checked with former vendor and they do not have any other login or password than what I have.

Does anyone know a back door into the higher level for programming?

List config all" will show if you have an available port on the TN765 for the D Channel. If so, you have everything you need.

-CL

I did a list config all and the processor was the only one that had 2 "u"'s the 765 had 01 02 03 04 that was why i was trying to find out what is programmed on it but can't get to certain commands. the only password I can get in on is cust / custpw1.

try "list data-mod" for starters. See if any of the tn765 ports show up there. Is this a tall MCC cabinet or short SCC/XE type cabinet?

-CL

The short SCC/XE cabinets only had 1 Proc Intf slot. Each PI has 4 ports. Does this 3gsi already have 4 D channels assigned based on the "list data"? You can only have 4 D channels per PI board. 1 PI board per SCC/XE port network or 2 PI boards per MCC cabinet. Sounds like you might be maxed out if there are already 4 D channels assigned to this system.

-CL

Probably pre programmed the processor channels.
Below shows how to program when using tn765 processor interface instead of
ISDN-PRI over PACCON? y

changing to tn778 frees up isdn programmed to processor interface and you are
not limited to capacity of the tn765's that will work on your system.

You cannot mix ISDN-PRI? y with ISDN-PRI over PACCON? y
Must be one or the other. When changing from one to the other, all programming for
pri signaling groups and ds1 boards must be removed and readministered.

Thank you I will try to check this out but I still have the problem of no one knows the higher level password. I only have the cust/ custpw1 and that does not let me put in some of the commands.
Do you know of any back doors into programming? Thank you

cust login should allow you to do all the commands shown in the examples
changing customer options would be what your login cannot do, if MSP are disabled as
shown on system-parameters customer-options, the login may not be able to do test or
busy / release commands.
