Hi Guys,
Customer is upgrading voice recording kit and vendors have specified two preferred methods of capturing data through MAPD.
1)CT server V1.3
2)CVLAN V8.2.1
Can you advise any advantages of either? Onsite we have TN801 MAPD vintage 3 FW 16 with DLG - no CVLAN. Upgrading to AES server / CM3 aint an option!

Cheers

avayamuppet,

go with cvlan co-resident on map-d board. this solution will be more robust, just because you don't add another link in the chain.
other than that, i don't think there will be any difference from an user's point of view.

Thanks dwalin, however will this mean a new MAPD? as it has gone end of sale...or can the CVLAN apps be added to an existing board?

avayamuppet,

yes they can. you can't buy a new map-d board but you can purchase software and licenses onto existing one.

What type system/version are you running? You may want to skip the MAPD and go with AES if you are looking at CM3.0

jimbojimbo,

migrating to aes will cost money. using existing map-d board will not. what do you choose?
