Hi I have a Avaya CM 4.0 S8400
The system has 2 console, The reception complain that when they press pos busy calls will still right at the console.

I knew with the older console you will press pos busy and un-plug the 2 prong handset. The new console don't have the 2 prong handset is there other solution to this or thats just the way it is.

If one person is leaving they press pos bsy to take their console "out of the queue". Calls can still beep at the console as "call waiting", especially if both console have pos bsy set, but they are not queued to it. The beeping will continue for the wait period in the vector because the queue is still open but no console are available.

If both consoles are being shut down for the day the primary console needs to set the night button to "close the queue". The queueing step will fail and flow to the next step in the vector.

what are you attempting to do? Do you want to re-route attendant calls to different resources, night destinations, voice mail?

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"

"they are not using vectoring "

The concept is the same. All that changes is how the system decides what to do next.

PosBsy just stops calls from getting assigned to a console from the queue. The call waiting will still beep on that console. The night button closes the queue and calls will not wait, they will be sent to the night service defined in the trunk or tenant.

We are not not trying to do anything special all the reception is saying when they put one of the 2 console on pos busy the one that is on busy still receive calls or the console still rings.

I remember on the old console with the 2 prong adapter, once the adapter is remove the console is disable.

What I wanted to know if once the console is busy can we stop is from ringing. I have never seen it done that way before.
