So I admit I never have setup or used Avaya Communicator. So my question might even be mute. We have installed several setups using the newer OneXWorkspace. Pretty straight forward. I haven't had time to look extensively into it, but it does seem to lack most features outside of just being a softphone. Things like showing other people on the phone or IM. Our hosted product is pretty robust when using their softphone communicator. Can you use Avaya Communicator on Release 11? what features do you gain or lose? Just trying to figure out what the best solution is for this particular client.

thx

Avaya communicator still works with release 11 but you don't have more features. IPOffice soft phones sucks lol. If you want more features, you will have to use it with one-x portal.

If you are on R11, just use Workplace. It's not perfect, but it is much better.

...or to put that another way, Workplace may not be perfect, but its the only softphone client that is receiving bugs fixes and new features.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.
