Please could someone let me know if it is possible to disable the chat feature on Avaya Communicator?

Also they are based in the UK with a UK SIP provider but they have a team which solely phones Germany using Avaya Communicator, please could someone let me know the best way for the phone system to automatically dial 0049 before a call for there German group? They do not want to have to dial a short code before they enter the number.

I saw the dialling rules for the softphone that you could enter a prefix for dialling out and was wondering if it would work if the entered 0049 in there just for the German team?

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Through an ARS table.

and if you don't know what I mean, get some training or a buseniss partner. Caus this is basic knowledge...

Thanks for the guide but it does not explain how to configure the system so there is no need for the country code, I have used the ARS table alot to make various types of calls go out through various trunks but I have no idea how to configure the system so that they do not need to enter a country code.

Please could you let me know if this would work so they don't need to enter 0049 then they can enter a prefix of 9;

9N
Dial
0049N

Also I have looked everywhere to try and disable the chat feature. Someone has suggested there is a way to do this if you disable prescence aswel which is fine but they gave no instructions on how to do it

TIA,

James

Also, is it possible to have a call listen button on communicator or the one x portal?

James

gave you the link to research all of those questions

Ok so after a couple of hours research I have managed to establish you there is no way to disable chat and I didn't managed to find anything that explains how you can call a country without dialling the country code so I think I will go and bang my head against a brick wall.

Also there is no way to add configurable buttons to a softphone such as 'Listen in' which I find strange but I guess Avaya has some way to go before they develop the perfect softphone and system

James

To dial a countrycode without the user dialling I will use the UK as an example.

To dial my office you would dial 02074014780. If a user in another country wanted to dial this without dialling the full international number then the shortcode would be

90N
Dial
0044N

This strips the 0 off the start of the number dialled and adds the country code.

Amend as suitable for the German users as I had to do for a German install I did on UK SIP trunks where they wanted to be able to dial locally without having to dial the international number.

I entered
