Hello all,
tomorrow i have a meeting with my Avaya account team to review CM 3.1 and the new features and functionality of the software. since i'll have them trapped for a few hours, is there anything you guys/gals want me to inquire about assuming you cant find answers anywhere else? if so, ask the questions here & ill print them out & ask them tomorrow & hopefully have the answers by Friday posted on here.

Ask them how many known bugs are in the software and whether they will be patching the bugs at the same time, or if U will have to spend the next 6 months fighting with them to fix things.
Then ask them how many unknown problems there are, and if they give you an answer other than the obvious 'that is not known', then maybe U should rethink a upgrade. Also ask them if they can take the system back to the original before start of business if there are any problems.

I have to honestly say that after over 15 years of installing, designing and maintaining these switches AT&T-Lucent-Avaya. I have never had as many bugs as we did when we went to 3.0...

As Orypecos said above it can be quite time consuming getting them to even fix the bugs they admit are there...

irisngen,

please ask 'em, what is s8400 and when it will be available for global sales? what call center enhancements are there in 3.1? new user features? what bugs are fixed and what new ones are freshly introduced? and so on. :) try to get maximum information possible.

well, as it turns out, the meeting actually turned into a sales pitch. nothing technically useful for us, but the S8400 is basically the evolution path for the prologix & stackables. linux based with integrated voicemail like an 8300 with IA-770.

Hello irisngen

Ask them: We use the Hoteling features. If any IP46xx-Station is logged off and in the Cover option the busy is set none, the caller gets a fast busy tone. We need a option to set up at the Cover a Point(xy) to verify that the Station is logged off.

I got some info on the S8400 it is an internal sever based processor for the prologix. Kind of like what the S8300 is to the g350 and g700.
