Has anybody tried out the Avaya Cloud hosted IP Office platform. I believe it is located on Google Cloud and containerized for each business instance.

Looking for real world opinions and experiences.

Avaya Call Reporting is currently not available but should be coming in August.

We are looking to replace our on Premise IP Office 500 V2

It works great with H.323 phones. I haven't had as much luck with using SIP devices, although that could just be a function of the environments in which I've set it up.

The real issue is cost. How many devices are you using, and what is the monthly cost to you. Most providers I've worked with are in the $25 CAD/month range for each set, with a free phone. If your business needs dictate that your phones are critical I would avoid the cloud like the plague - any number of factors could impact performance, and if you go offline your customers will not be able to reach you. The advantage of the cloud, of course, is that it stays online even if you aren't. While they may not be able to talk to you they could leave a voicemail, or twin to a cell phone.

I would suggest that you ask yourself how important telephony is. If it's business critical keep your equipment on premise. If it's not business critical you can save some money initially by migrating your users to the cloud - but be careful, because it can become very costly over time. Subscription services make it difficult to change providers down the road, as well.

If you are referring to PoweredBy IP Office, I have have had great success with it.

One of great features of PoweredBy IP Office is that you get access to all 1024 channels of the sip trunk, where competitors offer 2 channels and you pay for each additional.

Having 1024 channels at your disposal means you can enable mobile twinning for all users.
What makes PoweredBy bullet proof, is that you can also enable a feature that automatically enable twinning if the telephone set ever becomes disconnected from the cloud.

Very cool.

Ive been playing about with it a lot more over the past few weeks and have now got containerized in a position where I can have multiple SIP trunks and have got the following phones connected to it

J169
B179
9608
Polycom 8500
K175

So all in all quite happy with it, apart from the time it takes to actual setup the handsets!

having installed 10+ containerised system so far no major issues the latest software fixed a few bugs and seems to be stable.

I've done a few containerised systems, IP Phones wise works quite well.

Issue we come across with auto attendant not working due to groups having similar names therefore the calls don't route to the group.
Media Manager calls not displaying
Lots of issue with Equinox (same goes with on premises system) I won't be installing a system who wants to use just softphones, with Equinox there just too many little problems that very basic and frustrating that any developer would solve during development.
Plus is not very intuitive to use, transferring calls is not easy (even worse on the mobile app)

A bit confusing, are you talking about Powered by or containerized?

As I understood it containerized is very limited at the moment.

yes using containerized, its limited, but its the basic out of the box auto attendant, media manager and equinox issues.

Telagility is pretty hard to beat out here.

1200 Minutes of free international calling per user and its pooled! 100 users = 120,000 minutes for the business to share. Basically unlimited.

A full sip trunk for all users.. that's 1024 channels. Not 2 free channels and pay for extra channels like others do. I hate when others make you pay per channel.

Why is 1024 channels important? Every user can have mobile twinning enabled without the fear of incurring SIP trunking costs. You can have huge conference rooms. Also with 1024 channels you can enable Twinning failover, so that if your desktop ever becomes disconnected from the network, all calls automatically fail over to the twinned phone, or mobile phone. This makes things bullet proof.

Call Reporting, Conferencing, WebRTC, and all the other IP Office Features.

Find any other provider and ask for quote to provide those features lol..

From start to first phone up and running ~80 minutes

Used only the J179 phones so far but I like it.

Now I would actually love it if they had vmpro and if you could have phantom users so that you can forward to auto attendant after a few rings (embedded crap) without having to create a full user with extension and getting charged for it.
