Hi everyone,

Just got 8 x 9641g sets installed on an Avaya ip office through a POE switch. Only 2 of the phones are working properly. The other 6 have the dial pad non operational at all. One can receive calls on them but cannot dial out or transfer calls because of the dial pad issue. Any idea what the problem might be? Has anyone seen this issue before? I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Did the handsets upgrade when first connected? If not they probably need to :)

Hi everyone,

I know it is an upgrade issue. But how can I force the firmware upgrade on the phone? After the upgrade of the system and the manager, the phones do not upgrade. I tried everything. Is there a way I can force the firmware upgrade?

Remove power from the phone, reapply it. You'll see the phone asking for files and the results of its requests. If that fails, then something, most likely the file server settings, is not configured correctly.

Stuck in a never ending cycle of file copying.

I've had nothing but issues with the 9641's even after an upgrade. The "proper" files do not appear to be included with the latest release, so you have to manually download them and upload them to your SD card or file server.
