Where can I get the 96xx settings file from.
Everything I have read tells me it is included with each phone.
Unfortunately it is not pre-loaded on the phone sets and I have not received any cd's with the phones.

If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated.

I've tried support.avaya.com previously without any luck.

Will have another look at it.

Thanks.

I already have the 46xx settings file on my TFTP and HTTP servers.
Why will the 9640 phone not boot up then?

What am I missing?

what does it say on the screen

[Started on Version 3 software 15 years a go]

Currently it says:

Press * to program

When I do that it asks for a code?

Is there a default?

Thanks

Do you have a DHCP scope setup? Did you setup Option 242? That would be a good place to start.

We have static IP ranges set up for these phones and option 176.

I thought I saw a notation somewhere that we could use the 176 option also.

Thanks

No, 9600 series use Option 242, but thats a DHCP option, won't help you with static IP addressing.

You are in for a world of trouble using static IP's, not recomended. The phones upgrade twice (Boot and Application), sometimes between upgrades they lose their IP info, and you'll have to put it in again. have fun.

try this when you press *, dial "craft" thats the default code

Can I enter all the configs manually as with the 3620 or 3641 IP wireless phones?

Thanks
