Avaya 9611G handsets not logging out when logging in to a different handset

Our 9611G handsets are no longer being forced to be logged off when logging in to a different 9611G handset. Both phones are live and have dial tones. Any ideas?

If they are SIP, then it is normal behavior if MDA is in use.

Thank you, we do use SIP handsets so I guess MDA has been enabled then.
