Howdy,

Running CM5.2

Question:
I have a remote office that is set up with about 15 9608's that is connected back to our data center via our network teams hosted server.
The internet their is wildly insufficient.
In the interim, they are inquiring on whether its possible to downgrade the voice quality or something else to make the phones use less bandwidth.

Is that even possible?

cha ip-codec X where X is the codec your ip-network-region is using. Change from G711 to G729.

Thanks @phoneguy55

Is it possible to change it for specific extensions?

Does that site have their own network region? The phones would pick up their region based on the ip network map. The network map defines the IP addresses of a group of phones so that CM knows what region they belong to.
