Avaya 9500 series phone work on Partner R6

No, not compatible. The phone is just grabbing voltage from the tip and ring of the Partner port, that's why the backlight comes on.
Anyone know what causes a partner MLS-18d phone to start making random clicking noises in the speaker and when doing this, the buttons stop working. I figure something is wrong in the buttons and maybe one of them is sticking, but I don't see any problems. Would replacing the mylar thing with the LEDs on it solve this? Please help - I fixed it by replacing the phone, but I'd like to fix the phone if I can.
