I have two 9030 Wireless phones connected to my Partner System, one of them works perfectly. It shows what lines are in use, lets you switch lines, transfer calls, make calls, everything.

The second one, does NONE of those things. You press the Phone button, and you hear the Intercom tone for about 1/2 a second, then it seems as if it's FLASHING to another line or something, then it picks up the intercom again. (Sometimes, it picks up an actual phone line and does the same... and when watching on a regular phone, the light goes Red, and the Blinks a little, then Solid Red, then blinks, over and over and over.

Is there any way to remedy this on the second phone? There don't seem to be any differences between the two.. both are used in the same place, so it's not a Signal Problem, and I just can't figure it out!

Any help is much appreciated! :)

Hi fojin,
The 9030 may be set for the wrong system type. Make sure it is set for Partner.

If you are using more than one 9030 the radio units must be mounted in a carrier(117A3 or 117A4). Among other things the radio units will then be in sync. You can't use them without the carrier on the same premises. Also you can't use a current 9040 on the same premises with 9030's.

The 9040 does not require a carrier, is line powered, the radio unit is not married to the handset and it can support two handsets (2 extensions/handsets per radio unit).

If the 9030 transmitters are not mounted in the carrier, the radio's will still work. They may, from time to time, go on the same frequency and interfere with each other. I've seen other installs where this has occurred. Otherwise everything else is fine.
BTW, I totally agree with Hal that they should be mounted in the carrier.

Okay, I made a mistake, I actually have two 9040's. And the situation is the same, one works, the other just keeps flashing in and out of lines. Any change in the problem now that it's 9040 instead of 9030?

Thanks

If you have 2 - 9040 radio modules, you MUST have the cord between them so that they will sych. Try un-registering the handsets, disconnecting the radio modules, and reconnecting/registering everything. Also, I had one the other day that lost the voice pair, and it would do strange chirping although the data pair was good and allowed the display to function OK.
