this is the first time i've seen a avaya ip conference phone and i'm trying to figure out how to program it if i program it as a i2002 or what i should program it as

The 4690 will not work on a CS 1000 system. You need either the 2033 (which is UNIStim and emulates a 2004) or the B179 (which is SIP assuming your CS 1000 has a SIP Line Gateway).

so it is a 2033 phone so i just need to program it as a i2004 phone then is what your saying

Depends on Rls of PBX
2033 is eather built as a 2033 or a i2001

If you are old enough rls, you also need a patch to allow HFA in CLS for i2001

is there a way to find out what LD the TFTP server the phone needs to be connected to

The TFTP server would be a server on your network and would contain loadware that matches the firmware you have on your SigServer or a step version. (some Firmware Rls on 2033 require you go to a specific version before it upgrade from SigServer to the current version)

Try it first without using a TFTP server. If it fails to load firware from SigServer you will then need a TFTP server with firware on it - something like:

2310s18.bin <-- the minimum before it upgrades to what may be on your sigserver.

and a

i2033.cfg file that would contain the following:

SET APPNAME 2310S18.bin <-- matches firmware file listed above and also on TFTP server.

ok so is there a load in the option switch to show what TFTP server the switch is connected to or how would i find it

nothing to do with PBX

It is in the setup of the phone but server would be on your network - talk to your network group.

ok so now that i've figured out the TFTP server the phone is now saying it's server is unreachable and i have some IP addresses that i use for a template to configure the IP conference phone so i was wondering if that is a network issue or a phone switch issue

Could be Network or Conf phone setup

Probably want to setup as partial DHCP
S1 and S2 should be your Node IP address
port 4100

Do you have other IP phones working on your system?

they aren't avaya 2033 phones though and i have the phone programmed as a i2001 i think that might be the problem then
