Hi we have a customer who currently has an avaya 412. They have bought snom 300 and 320 handsets. we are looking at installing a vcm 30 into the system to utilise these.

Can anyone tell me the answers to the following please?

1. do we need IP endpoint licences for each user?
2. can you use all the features of the snom handset (transfer etc)

thanks in advance

What does your Avaya business partner tells you ?

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

They are saying that they can be used however unsure of features that will work :S

What software release does your 412 have?
If you have the right version then you need 3th party ip endpoint licenses for every phone.

if you want functionality - then buy the Avaya phones - other wise a SIP endpoint is about as useful as an analoge phone

we will have software version 5 on this and unfortunatley the phones are already purchased

Indeed...you will get make, take and possibly transfer to work...that's it, but I wouldn't hold your breath with the transfer working :)
