we have someone using a Plantronics headset and electronic hook switch cable APV-66 that is supposed to eliminate the need for the handset lifter. they are plugged in to the headset jack on the phone and everything works fine except they cannot release the call remotely using the call control button on the headset. is there something that needs to be programmed on the phone itself that allows the headset to control dropping the call?
thanks so much!

Is the headset button depressed on the phone? with this adapter cable it is not necessary

so they don't need to press the headset button if they're using this cable? could that be causing the problem?

It may be, we do not use the headset button on those cables that replaced the lifter,it beeps on an incoming call, press button on headset to answer, press button again to end call period. let me know how you make out

well, we tried and struck out. user says he tried to answer a call without having the headset button activated and it did not work...square one. just looked at CDW and this cable may not be compatible with the Plantronics CS530 headset he has. need to check Plantronics but CDW lists 510 520 and 540, skips 530 as being compatible...any other ideas?

you already just told me the problem, not the right headset. go to Plantronics.com and find the correct headset with adapter cable.

turned out to be a firmware issue with the phone. in order for this specific setup to work, the phone must be REL 4.0 or higher and his phone is 3.0. Thanks!
