Avaya 1616 and 1616I differerence?

I have had 1608I, 1616I running on R5.0.26 on both 406v2, and 500.
I know for sure they also worked fine on R5.0.24
If memory seved me right, R5.0.22 worked okay.
I also have documents that sate it is I for international, other documents refer to it as localized.
The sticker on the back, and the 16xx-I on the phone ( compare it to REDIAL, same I ) looks like an I, but monitor shows it as an L!
Either way, I like the white display on these much better.
