Avaya 1608 Series Phone Firmware 1_02 Issues

Anyone have the latest firmware release for 1600 Series phones installed? Version is 1.0.2, release date April 2008.

If so have you noted any problems with headset users having their phones reboot shortly after answering calls or the phone simply locking up and needing a reboot. Or, do you have any phones on this release that reboot for no apparent reason?

I have a customer on CM 4.0.1 and another on CM 5.0 and both report random problems with 1608 phones. Our office has seen this on one of our phones as well. Seems to have started after moving from 1.0 to 1.0.2.

It appears a 1608 can be made to reboot by pressing the speaker and headset keys repeatedly.
Causes a reboot of 1608 phones running 1.0.2 firmware, doesn't cause a problem with firmware 1.0.1.

Just an update.

don't have 1608, but have lots of 1616's on this version. No problems reported at all.

That matches what we have seen, 1616's work fine on this version. 1608's do not. I was pressing the speaker and headset keys yesterday and got the 1608 on my desk to reboot.

This is my last update on this issue:

There are definite known issues with the 1600 series firmware. Avaya Tier 3 confirmed this and they are working on udpated versions. Currently there is no ETA on when an updated version will be generally available.

If you have 1608 phones 1.0.2 will cause you many headaches. We updated the 46xxupdate.txt to force the 1608 phones back to 1.0 for the time being.

Here is an updated firmware version that should take care of the reboots, although since it is so new at this time, it may be a better idea to revert to an older version.
