client has 1608 phones, when they are engaged in a call , they cannot see whose calling, they can only see the yellow light flashing.. is there anyway we can see whose calling on a 1608 phone? or we have to change the phone to a different model?

There are no yellow lights on a 1608, there are green ones though. What does it show on the screen? Do they have caller id turned on for the trunks by the provider? Looking in SSA will show if the system is receiving the callers number or not :)

oh yeah its green, its not showing anything on the screen, If they have incoming call and they are not engaged in a call, they can see whose calling through the caller id , but when another call comes in even an extension number, its doesnt show on the display..

Oh sorry, I missed the part where you said they were busy :)

You need to turn Answer Pre-select on for the users, then they can press the flashing button to see who is calling without answering it, they can then answer by pressing the same button again :)

yeah I did that already, however, if you pressed that button, the active or initial conversation will be put on hold automatically..

Just press the down button on the keypad, it should show what is alerting on the second CA :)

there is also a setting in the phone menus for show waiting call. turn this on and you dont need to press the down button. it is on by default on 96xx but not on 16xx and 14xx

That's on by default on my test 1408, but you still need to press down, it doesn't show the second call details until you do :)
