Hi,
We have been deploying 1230 IP sets to replace our existing digital telephones. There have been complaints that users must arrow down to see the second line of display. Is there a way to have the phone alternate between displaying the first line and second line so users don't have to scroll down? Is there another solution?

thanks

Thank goodness you haven't been upgrading the digital sets to Cisco!

Sorry I wanted to write and tell you that. I only know the SIP solution, not the Unistim Solution. On SIP, the whole display of the 1230 shows both name and number.

Hi Pbxpoweruser

I'm taking a guess here that some of your CPND names are too long to fit on the one line with the DN? And the users who have the really long last names are the ones grizzling?

If so, I feel your pain somewhat. However we were able to push back with policy to say (too long of a last name or first, well too bad)!.

You may want to look at the customisation options in the 1230 itself. There I know you can specify the Name to appear before the extension, but that might not be exactly great for people who want the extension either.

I've asked Avaya about this, and there response was to just shorten the CPND name, so I'm afraid there isnt a solution out there for this!.

FYI - We use full E164 between Lync and our CS1000's, so nearly everyone doesnt see the SIP Name or CPND name.

-Great scott!

You are correct my names are too long. We are also using these phones as call centre telephones which causes another obvious issue as 1 line has the skilset and the other the CLID and CPND. I have submitted feature enhancement to Avaya and waiting for an update.

I second that above...THANK YOU....for not updating your digital phones to Cisco IP phones :)
