Hi,

Can someone point me int he direction of how I can find out how many Voice mail ports I have please.

Using Voicemail pro 3.?.

I have an issue where customers occasionally get an engaged tone. I believe this is because too many people are leaving a message at once and so if a customer is trying to call and it diverts to a voicemail they get an engaged tone.

I need to know how many ports I have though so I can monitor this.

Run monitor and go voicemail or open manager and look for licenses

The default license is for four ports and there are also licenses with additional ports with an amount behind it

Cheers, I can see in phone manager I have 1 license that says 4 ports and the instances are unlimited. What does the instances refer too?

I'm sure I have more than 4 ports.

Sorry, being a bit of 'tard... I didn't notice the license that said "addittional ports" So it seems I have 8 ports. That makes senses. Thanks for the help.

You see this in manager not phonemanager :)

If you have monitor then open it
Then go to "status" and then "voicemail status"
Then you can see "max session"

This will give the ports there are available

In Monitor, when I go to the status menu I only have Alarms, G150 or IP phone status, no voicmail option. I'm looking at sysmonitor v5.1 (65)

Oke so you do not have an ipoffice but an G150 :)
Then i do not know how to help you

Maybe someone else here knows it ?
By default vmpro has 4 channels and vmpro is needed for the G150

No its not a G150 it is an older version of IPO. it is running 3.1.65 and on that monitor there are only a couple of options. THey added to it with 3.2 and then 4.0/4.1

You are right
It is a long time ago i worked with 3.0 or 3.1 :)
Then the only way is by the licenses
Can you provide a screenshot ?

In monitor goto filter\trace_options\ system tab then tick 'development trace'. Now there are more options under the status window. Also one about voicemail.
THIS IS AT YOUR OWN RISK AND DO NOT FORGET TO TURN IT OFF.
It uses extra systemresources so should be handled with care.

Sorry, didn't get chance to pick this up again yesterday. Thanks for all the responses. I guess I'm one of only a few people still on 3.1(65) but I'm working on getting our reseller to upgrade everything for us!

Thanks escorthosis, that's perfect. Is it ok to leave the development trace option selected, as long as I don't leave the monitor running for too long?

I think we're just going to buy some more vm ports anyway!

Cheers

N.

Don't upgrade unless you need to. If things work the way you want then leave it alone!!

3.1(65) is ok. I have customers on anything back to 2.0 and anything inbetween. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

I agree with Jamie dont upgrade unless you are having issues or need a new feature.

I have a problem with CCC reporter on IE7 which is fixed in the newest release and also a problem with a memory leak in Voicemail pro which I believe is fixed in a later version.

Also, we are going to open an office in a different location and will have IP phones at the new location and run it all from here.

So I'm thinking along the lines of it being better to upgrade everything.

How stable is 4.1(1201) are there many known issues?
