Available phone ports

I have no experience with the NEC 2000, but have been put in charge of mac's of the phones. I have loaded Matworx Studio 3.61 and I use that (just point and click...seems pretty simple). Is there a way to just list unused phone ports on a system? When I do a LEN listup, it shows more ports than is really on the system. Also, from what I understand, you can't put phones on just any port. Any help will be appreciated!!

there are digital phones (D Term) and analog phones, they use different cards. I don't remember the card numbers off hand, I'll check when I get to work and post again. How many "chassis" do you have? I have some .PDF files on the neax 2000 at work I could send you... Let me know. I have just started to take care of a 2000 in a new install, I have been taking care of two 2400's for about 15 years, but the 2000 takes some getting used to!!!

Digital phones, known as Dterm's use any of the following cards; 4DLCD, 4DLCA, 4DLCM or 4DLCQ.

Analog phones can use; 4LCD,4LCJ or 4LCD-A.

In Command 10 Dterms are assigned as FXXX. F stans for Feature phone. Analog stations are assigned XXX. XXX represents the station number itself. (X, XX, XXX, XXXX) Remember, the number of "X's" depends on the digit length of your extension numbers

There are a total of 712 hardware ports available on the 2000. If you only have one shelf (PIM), then you have a total of 64 hardware ports (Dterm and analog). The rest would be virtual extension ports that show up in MatWorx LEN listup. You can programm phones in these virtual extension LENS, but will have no physical connection. They would be just appearances on other phones when you programm the key data. Depending if you have a 2000 IVS, IVS2 or IPS, the cards vary. On an IVS they are 4 port cards, on the IVS2 and IPS they are 8 port cards.

The easiest way to find unused/ unprogrammed ports is to open the pim cover and look for the blinking red led. If you see one, look at that type card I/E the desc. above. Then all you have to do is find the len "line equipment number"
