we have several single page documents that need to be sequentialy numbered and I was hoping that there was a way to do this in word.

basicaly we are given a number and we need to start from the next one for x number of prints.

I guess we can create x number of pages but I would like to do it with one page.

many thanks

merge them into one document

or use a footer and enter the desired page number not using page#

Could you clarify? Or did eyec give you what you wanted?

several single page documents that need to be sequentialy numbered

That sounds like you want the files sequentially numbered.

What exactly is being sequentially numbered? The print jobs? The number of pages - as in you want to actually have the page numbers themselves sequential across the files?

If you just want to distinguish the documents, you could use the time.

Hi Manic,

If you are going to print 500 different pages, you are going to send 500 different pages to your printer (unless you are doing some low level printer coding - and even then I'm not sure) so why not just create a temporary 500 page Word Document? Unless you have memory problems, anything else is going to be more complicated for no obvious gain.

Enjoy,
Tony
