Does anyone have a means of doing this?

I'm willing to run batch jobs at some interval to do it, I would think that there must be a way to do this by using the RDC or some other means.

Anyone? Anywhere?? Anyway???

I have never found a way.....it's a huge bug as far as I am concerned.

Seagate Info allows one to refer to an external pick list. This external pick list can be the text output of a recurring scheduled report, which makes the list as current as your last job.

Crystal Enterprise 8 doesn't include this feature. In order to have dynamic pick lists or interdependent pick lists, you'd need to build a csp parameter form that queries the database for values. Do I know how to do this? Not yet, but I'm learning;-)

Right, and thanks for the response.

I was hoping that someone may have built up a generic VB app or some such to open and refresh the reports.

Doesn't sound too bad in theory... kai@informeddatadecisions.com

I designed reporter for my company using VB and RDC. You can use SQL query to specify the list of values to be shown in drop down list. The reporter uses it's own MS SQL database where all the above definitions are stored. When user runs report it automatically draws parameters prompt bar and after pressing OK button refreshes data.

Interesting, I knew someone must have addressed this.

Do you have a product out, or some source you might share?

I wouldn't want to use MS SQl all of the time, but this is functionality sorely lacking in CR.

Check out 'PickListFileName' property of the ReportParameter object in CE8.5
