Hi All;

I have no idea how to accomplish this or what terms to use to describe it (or where to post it).

I want to start a vfp 6.0 program automatically when the computer (Windows XP) is first booted up. A small icon (to join the many others there) on the bottom right of the desktop would be nice too.

This program has its own form and running timer to service my PDA and will be independent of any other vfp program.

Any help will be sincerely appreciated.
Thanks,
Alan

Dave,

Yep. Things would be much simplier if I had Hsia's tools. Trying to coordinate Microsoft Windows, Visual CE, mEnable, and VFP has definitelty been a challenge. I'm trying my best not to reinvent the wheel, but I'm beginning to think starting from scratch would be easier.

I'm going to admit my ignorance once again and swallow my pride (again). Apparently some of the basic vfp commands, like 'use' and 'used' do not work as expected when vfp runs as a service. So, if this community will tolerate me one more time, I'll be interested to see what you think.

Best regards,
Alan

I didn't know about USE, but I can believe there are some limitations in what you can do when running as a service.

Could I suggest you start a new thread to deal with these, as it's likely to be of interest to other forum users.

Mike
