One of my phone users says that he has to select a ringing line in order to answer it.

The phone is an 18D. All of the inbound extensions are set to delay. When the phone finally starts ringing on his extension, he can't just pick up the phone and answer. He says he has to push the button that is ringing then answer.

He would prefer to have the ringing extension automatically selected when he answers. My search of the forum indicates that is how it is setup by default, but it appears it is not working that way.

Any suggestions?

If he can not receive the call when he picks up his handset, AND his phone is actually making the ringing sound AND the line is flashing green, he may be in DND or forwarded or covered to another extension.

Try Feature 11-His Extension Number Twice, Feature 20-His Extension Number Twice, and even cycling the power or Feature 00, Left Intercom Twice, #728 (at Ext. 10 or 11)

He can receive the call when he presses the button of the incoming lines. It doesn't automatically select the ringing extension.

So is his phone programmed for Immediate Ring?

Does he have his D.N.D. turned on?

Is his extension forwarded or covered to another extension?

No, his phone is set for delayed ring on all incoming lines. After the phone rings on the other handsets about 4 times, his starts ringing. It does ring.

WHen his phone starts to ring (we can hear it), he would like to be able to pick up the handset and have it automaitcally select the ringing line.

His extension is not set to forward. He also does not have DND set.

I went to the church this evening to see if I could duplicate what the problem was, but everything worked as I would expect it to. I'll have to get them to duplicate the problem for me.
