Automatically Restart

Is possible with SMS2003 to make an action so it reboots all the computers in the network every friday night. Is this possible? if not which tool is the best for this?

Yes SMS 2003 can do this easily. The SMS admistrator needs to create a package to implement this.

Create an SMS package that does nothing. For example, create a BAT file that runs DIR. The point here is to have a package that doesn't really implement anything...a NULL package, if you will.

Then the SMS administrator can configure the program to REBOOT the machine after the BAT runs. This will perform the function you want. In addition, you get reporting that the servers rebooted through SMS reports.

Okay I must be a complete moron. It I careated a package as you discribed and then advertised it to a collection and nothing happens...... Any Ideas?

or, you can run SysInternals' psshutdown in a script but I like Joseph's better.
