Automatically insert check box controls?

Hey all...

Is there an easy way for me to insert a large number of unlabeled checkbox controls? Basically, I have a list of items in column A, and I want there to be a checkbox next to each in column B. Since the list is about 200 items long, I really don't want to have to try to manual insert, position, remove the default label, etc, for each individual item.

I don't even really need the controls to interact with the spreadsheet data for the most part, it's going to be for my own personal use and I just need to be able to see what is checked and what isn't checked, and have that information save with the spreadsheet.

Thanks!

Create one checkbox in A1. While in Design mode, copy the cell. Now select cells A2:A200. [Ctrl]+[V] to paste[red]*[/red].

Voila!

[red]*[/red]Note: It might take a while to paste that many checkboxes at once. You might want to start out trying to paste about 10 to make sure it is working for you.

Thanks for the prompt response.

I tried what you suggested, and it didn't work, but now I think I see where my problem is. I'm grabbing the checkbox from the control toolbox. I think that's putting it on the page but not putting it "into" the field, so it won't let me paste more than one at a time. How do I insert the check box so that it is considered to be in B1, for example, as opposed to just dragging it so it is nebulously "on the sheet?

It should work fine.

Make sure that you are in design view when copying the cell. If you try it and it doesn't work, press the Design Mode button again, then try it.

Got it, thanks. The copy/paste still wasn't working, but the fill down worked.
