I know this issue has been dealt with before but I'm still really stuck, if anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

I want to get my swf to open at a specific frame when the page is opened. I know it involves Javascript and I've been to plenty of sites but I can't get it to work. Does anyone have an example script of this exact proceedure?

Thanks

It doesn't really necessarily envolve javascript... You could append some query string variable in the Object & embed tags of your Flash movie, and then through a first frame checking function simply re-direct the playhead to the appropriate frame, according to the value of the variable that was passed...

Would be better if you gave us more info on your setup, so we can determine if this alone would work in your present situation...

Thanks oldnewbie. Basically the swf is being used for a menu system on a frames website. (EROL). Annoyingly the entire menu frame refreshes when a link is activated in the swf menu. This means on the next page, the swf has reset. There are hundreds of product pages so I wanted to insert a goto frame command dependant on the grouping of the page. For example..

(Menswear products goto frame 4)
(womenswear products goto frame 10) etc

These could be build into the product page templates and hence reduce the build time. But keep the menu system.

Any ideas? Thanks again for the advice.
