I'm new to Nortel so this may sound a bit stupid. I set up a DN for the front desk to use as a voicemail recording to give delivery drivers directions to our facility. I didn't attach a phone to the TN and now the system disables the line automatically. How can i fix this without using a phone?

It sounds like you set the DN up on a Digital Port. If yes, give CLS FLXA

Or you can setup a phantom or dummy acd to send the call to voice mail and not have a phone associated in programming.

the phantom acd option sounds fun...how would i go about doing that? For now im gonna set FLX to allow and see what happens.

Do you need a phone? If yes, you can change the CLS FLXA, or program the phone on a 500 type set.

If you don't need the phone. Program a simple dummy acd.

thanks jamie2, i'll try that. I dont need a phone so the FLXA option won't work anyway right?

It'll work, but I would go with the dummy acd approach if a phone isn't required.

The CLS FLXA will prevent any digital set from disabling during the midnight routines.

yes it would work, but if you dont want to burn up a lic, do it just like Jamie posts build the VM box and your done

sounds good to me....next question, how can i generate a list of all the ACDNs i already have in use?

You do a simple print.

Then I would go to and download his ACD Excel parser. This will put it into a nice spreadsheet for you.

Then if you want a list of all the TN's associated with an ACD, go to LD 81

alright, cool....looks like that did the trick. I'm learning new things about this system every day. The person who used to take care of it retired and left me with nothing. And i think im getting the hang of it..thanks!

Not that this is the best answer but removing 30 from the midnight routine will prevent all digital sets from automatically disabling if they arent connected. It isnt good practice to do this just to forward calls to VM.

Using an ACD dn is easy and works quckly, using a phantom is the most functional solution if you are doing a large number of redirects.

Programing a set with flxa is good for call control, use this when you need marp control of a number that appears on a real set.

this next question i have goes along with my first question...

Im trying to set the ACD i set up as a RevertDN on another line through the callpilot system and its telling me the ACD line i have set up has an rpl restriction. How can i change that?

You need to look at your RPL details for you 'On Switch' setting in Callpilot, under MESSAGING > Restriction Permission Lists > ON SWITCH

The restricted codes for the on switch are 1,3,9. Im not fully sure i know what the problem is.

can someone explain the "on switch" rpl for me?
