Hi.

Is it possible to setup Outlook 2000 to automatically CC someone on every email which is sent?

Best Regards

Andrew.

You can try setting up a rule to send items addressed to you to be CC: to another person. Use the Rules Wizard under Tools in the toolbar in Outlook.

dcowboysr1,

You are 100 % correct. Setup a rule from Rules Wizard and you will be all set.

Maybe I'm missing something, but by setting the rule that way, won't that only work for incoming messages? Or will that handle the CC for all messages outgoing as well?

Let me retrack my answer.

I do not see anywhere in the rules wizard where you can specify someone in the "CC" field for outgoing messages. so I would have to say no to the "Rules Wizard".

Not sure if this task can be done.

Use the rules wizard, I just set one up and tested it. Here's how I did it.

*Tools menu

*Rules Wizard

*Click New rule button

*Select "Check messages after sending"

*Click Next button

*Select "uses the form name name form"

*Click on the underlined words "form name" in the Rules description box

*In the Choose Form dialog box, you may have to change the drop down control to allow you to select Application Forms

*Select the message form in the left box and move it to the Selected Forms box by double clicking the form name or selecting the form name and clicking the Add button

*Click Close button

*Click Next button

*In the "What do you want to do with the message?" step select "CC the message to people or distribution list"

*Click on the underlined words "people or distribution list" in the Rules description box. Add the person or DL from the Rule address dialog box if they are in your address book. You add the person or DL by either double clicking the name of the person or DL, or selecting their name and clicking the Add button. You can also create a new address here, let me know if help is needed with this step.

*Click Next button

*Add any exceptions needed from the Add exceptions step (I did not, but can help with this step if needed) otherwise click Next button

*Specify a name for the rule and select the box to turn it on, you can also run it on the contents of the folder if you wish, but if there are a lot of objects in the folder, it could generate quite a bit of mail!

*Click Finish.

I did this first and put my name in as the CC address for testing. I sent an email to my yahoo address and it CC'd me just fine.

Good luck. Hope this helps. I hope I did not miss any steps! Please advise if more help is needed.

Excellent. Thanks for that... seems good to me.
