Automatic Set Relocation

I have a user that wants to implement Automatic Set relocation, and i have always been under the impression that its not recommended due to records mismanagement and or data corruption, but i cant seem to find any official reasons stating anything. Any help clearing up the ASR myth would be appreciated. THX

I heard this throughout my career and I think it is from some issues from an old release in the past. I worked on a large Opt81 for NINE years and we used it almost every day, moving 5-30 phones. Never had any issues.

I wouldn't take the chance. Seen it cause corruption too many times.

I have seen many TNs corrupted on systems, makes them a M2317 if I remember correctly. I always had to get them deleted in PDT and rebuild

i have had 3 customers request it and 2 out of 3 had db corruption after using it but have not tried it since 3.0

It's OK on Norstar / BCM systems, but never wise on Meridian 1.
