hello,

I run a macro in Exel which writes into certain cells of the active worksheet. After the writig, exel automatically saves the worksheet, although the macro does not contain a saving order. How can i stop Exel from automtically saving my file?

Thanks for help, Llarian1981

Click Tools > Autosave, and set the save options the way you want them. To cancel completely, just uncheck the Autosave box.

Sorry, if I click tools, there is no menu point autosave!

If that option is not available, then the Auto-save add-in is not installed, and I don't know what could be causing the save to occur. Hopefully one of our "macro" experts can come to yout rescue. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

That means that you do not have the AutoSave add-in.

You are sure that the macro doesn't save the workbook?

As I wrote the macro myself, I am sure that it does not contain an order to save the changes it has done to the workbook.
I'd really appreciate help, because the automatic saving is causing a lot of work if I want to undo what my macro has written to the workbook!
Thanks for answering, Llarian1981

Please explain how you know it's saving? Do you see the "saving" message in the status bar? Or is there something else that indicates to you that it has saved?

Cheers, Glenn.

Did you hear about the literalist show-jumper? He broke his nose jumping against the clock.

Is it possilbe that you just mean you can' undo what has been done by a macro? Because you can't get around that. Once you run a macro, the Undo button is no longer available.

All right then. Not the answer I was hoping to get, but it fits my problem!
