I need to set up a report on a big screen in the office that shows a Gauge and a set of traffic lights that updates every 5 minutes. It is the trendy thing for offices that have bonus targets to see how well they are doing towards their weekly targets via a big screen.
I can set up the report in SSRS 2008 and I can display it via the standard Report viewer website installed with SSRS. I can of course set it to refresh the data to a schedule behind the rendered report. I have not been able to find away to refresh the displayed/rendered report on the screen in report viewer without somebody going up to it and hitting the refresh button.
I can get round this by sticking something on the machine to simulate 'F5' to a a timed schedule or I can write a VB.Net program to display a report viewer and refresh it every 5 minutes using a timer control.
I wondered if anybody knew of a way to do it without fiddling about like this. Is there an option in SSRS to create a report that can automatically re-render on the report viewer to a schedule?
Dazed and confused.
Remember.. 'Depression is just anger without enthusiasum'.
