After days of fighting with multiple modems I have finally been able to use the PC Admin software to configure a partner acs release 3.0. The software however does not allow you to select automatic line selection on a 3.0 release. I tried doing it from the phone after I used the software and it does not work. The extension will default to the intercom button when the receiver is lifted. If I program line selection from the phone first, it works but when I send the config file from the software up to the switch, it erases that command and I am back to not having ALS. Any ideas or help? I really want to use the software to do the majority of the programming.

Thanks

you need to retrieve a new file from the phone system after you change ALS don't use the old on e and modify it again. ALS is one of the features you can't change in the old R3 software, even if you have the new R7 and get an R3 config you can't change it.

Great! Thanks for the info. I never thought of that. I started creating a new config file without first pulling it off of the switch after I set the ALS feature.

Glad to be of service,

have a good one

I tried what you suggested and it did not work. I set the ALS the way I wanted and downloaded the translations. Assigned buttons in the software and uploaded the translations and restored them from the pc card. I lost my line selection. All phones went back to the left intercom as being the default when the receiver is picked up.

Something could be glitched in RAM. You might want to power cycle the system when you go back there or have the customer do it for you.

You are sure that the file you modified and restored is the one you backed up from the system? Are the batteries good?

You might check the maintenance info area for any messages.

Batteries are good and everything seems to be fine execpt for the fact that once I get to a certain area of programming I lose the ALS. Seems to be associated with either certain buttons being programmed or adding extensions into groups. The software is wonderfull for configuring but it seems to be buggy when uploaded and restoring translations. Not sure what to do. I've almost decided to do everything manually through the phone itself.
