Customer has some elevator phones that need to disconnect as soon as far end disconnects. They are set up as Ringdown (Hotline) to an internal security phone. When you press the elevator call button, it calls the security phone. The problem is that when the security desk hangs up the elevator phone stays off hook for 2.5 to 6 and the Fire and Rescue cannot call them during that time period.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks

GHTROUT, When I install a line-side T-1 I always program those ports with ISP and OSP. Do you know if those features work on a line-side T1 card or not?

I don't think they are ever needed on a Line Side T1. When I worked for a brokerage, we had appx 10 full Line Sides feeding into an IPC Tradenet trading turret system, and never had a problem with disco. None of the TNs had the CLS OPS or FTR ISP settings on. Since many were for ARDs to Wall Street, we'd have hear within seconds of the first issue or failure.

I just checked a site that has a bunch going into an IVR, and none of those have the CLS OPS or FTR ISP settings on. That site has zero problems as well.

Since there is no physical loop going on/off hook towards the TN...well, that might explain why. Not sure.

seahawk - what was your resolution on these elevator phones. Did you have to go to OPS cards?
