If i have a group with only one client and this client have 10 save sets. And if this group is configured to be automaticaly cloned. I notice, when this group is cloned, that Legato only uses one tape to read and another one to write. I have a server parallelism and a target session so low to ensure that each save set is save in one different volume.
How can i tell Legato to use more tapes to read and write, for example, two or three tapes to read and two or three tapes to write.

Thanks,
Juanjo

It would have been better if you backup the data to different pools - it will have the same effect but you could work with a higher server parallelism (multiple streams at the same time).

To create multiple clone sessions at the same time, it would be best if you run them by starting multiple nsrclone processes from the command line. However, this needs some scripting to optimize the process.

Yes, Networker can back up to 12 to 1000 drives at once. If
automatic cloning is done for the group it will then clone
your 1000 tapes one tape at time.

You can write scripts (and maintain them) that sort the ssids
and clone them reading from multiple drives and writing to
mulitple drives.

Perhaps easier, and less maintainence until your data grows
really large, is to do as 605 suggested. Backup to multiple
groups and pools (one backup pool per group) and then auto-clone those groups. You can clone multiple backup tape
pools (groups) to one clone pool. You cannot auto-clone multiple groups that use the same backup tape pool at the same
time; nsrclone will fail miserably as it waits for a group
to be finished writing to a tape so it can read from it.

While the backup pools go up and may become difficult to manage; it does give the effect of parallel cloning with
some groups backing up while others are done and cloning at
the same time.
