Hi,

POS system is Micros Res 3700.
I was wondering if anyone has in their SIM library some code that will automatically calculated a "Banquet Fee" that is either 3% or 5% of Total Sales on a check. The banquet Fee is the commission paid to our private event department for private event contracts and is NOT considered a gratuity.
We currently have a menu item called "Banquet Chg" and enter the desired $ amount manually. If this amount (3% or 5%) can be calculated by Micros automatically that would save us a lot of time.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Pretty sure you can do this through the core programming. A non-sales service charge.

Thanks Wildbar.
Because of Labor Law and IRS Regulation regarding tips and service charges, Banquet Fees can not be posted as service charge since the same account is used to post all the tips. The banquet fee has to be a line item by itself on the check and can not be combine with anything else. Also is is considered a taxable items and sales tax need to be assessed on the Banquet fee.

Best
